All Traditional Musicians are invited to join the Ceílí Band at City Hall, Sign up via our website or email. We will have special accommodation deals for traveling musicians and concert tickets for local musicians who register to take part.

At 3pm on Sunday the 13th of October we aim to set the record for 'The World's Largest Irish Céilí Band' by having over 250 musicians playing for a Céilí Mór at Cork City Hall. For more info email:

35th Cork Folk Festival 2nd - 5th of October 2014

Cork Folk Festival, now in its 35th year, is an annual gathering of some of the finest folk and traditional musicians from Ireland and beyond.

This four day festival is emerging as one of the most important folk and traditional music events in Ireland and has a growing reputation in Europe. Performances take place in concert halls, music venues, in 30 bars and on the streets.

It features concerts with international, cutting edge and established artists plus lectures, workshops, children's events, and traditional set dancing. The event has a strong focus on local Cork City, Sliabh Luachra and Cúil Aodha music and song so prepare for plenty of polkas, slides and harrier ballads!

Long-running and much loved Irish traditional band Scullion, were formed in 1979 and consists of three sensational musicians, Sonny Condell, Robbie Overson and Philip King will be recording a much anticipated live album at the Triskel Arts Centre during the Folk Festival.

Frankie Gavin

Frankie Gavin is from a musical family; parents and siblings being players of the fiddle and accordion. As a child he played the tin whistle and, later, the flute. When 17 years old, he gained first place in both the All Ireland Under-18 Fiddle and Flute competitions.
